Hi crafty friends! Today is the DAY! The new amazing My Favorite Things April Release is finally here! Do you have a favorite?
There are some stamps that I particularly love, because they’re perfect to create scene cards or little illustrations.
The new amazing MFT YUZU Shout It From the Rooftops Stamp Set, illustrated by Yan Au is just one of those stamps! I really really love her designs and when saw this stamp set I immediately thought of the cartoon “The Aristocats”! So, I realized a night scene that was a callback to the scene in the cartoon when the cats are on the rooftops.

I stamped the rooftops and the cat on a watercolor paper with the Distress Oxide Pumice Stone to have a no-line effect.
I colored the whole scene using the Daniel Smith Extra-fine Watercolors. I started coloring the sky in the shades of the dark blue, blue and green-blue, leaving a clear halo around the moon. After that I colored the moon and the rooftops, adding the details with a fine point brush.

I colored the little cat using pastel pencils to have a fur effect and then realized the details with a brown colored pencil.
At last I added the stars with a white gel pen.
