MFT STAMPS | MORNING DEW

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending an art workshop with a great Italian artist. One of the things he said that struck me the most, is to put our feeling into our work. So he said: if you’re feeling pink, paint with pink. If you feel yellow, paint with yellow. And so on and so forth.

Well, these days I’m feeling blue. The thought of the war in Ukraine is really terrible. It seems like something surreal. I can’t imagine what people in Ukraine are experiencing these days. And feeling powerless in the face of that is just horrible.

So, I made a project that represents how I feel these days. Like a fragile flower in the morning dew. Waiting for a ray of sunshine.

For my project I used the beautiful MFT Freshly Picked Bouquet stamp set. I was inspired by a Sandy Allnock‘s technique to give a 3D effect, stamping on a colored paper and using only two colors.

I stamped the flowers on the MFT Blue Beyond Card Stock, using Versamark Ink to have a no-line effect.

I colored the flowers using a white and blue colored pencils, marking only the lights and the shadows to give a 3D effect to my work.

At last I realized the highlights and the reflections of the morning dew with a white gel pen.
